WHO WAS THAT MAN?
[FlashXer] EXERCISE: SUNDAY, FEB. 3, 2008
Here's a sort of pro active prompt for you today. How
many of us have been in a similar position...and full of
dread because of it. It happens to most of us, at some time
or other...and it should make a good story, if you let your
imagination go to work for you.
HE WAS DOING 60 ON AN ABSOLUTELY EMPTY HIGHWAY,
WHEN SUDDENLY, THERE WAS A CAR BEHIND HIM WITH
FLASHING LIGHTS, SIREN BLARING...
Usual rules., 1000 words. In the subject line, please your
name, the words doing 60 and the story title.
Now put your fingers to the metal (or is it plastic)
and start writing. Who know, you may get away with just
a ticket, rather than a trip to the pokey.
Have fun...

Janine's Doing 60 "Who Was That Man?" 103 words
He was doing 60 on an absolutely empty highway, when suddenly; there was a car behind him with flashing lights, siren blaring.
The voice on the loud speaker told him to pull over.
George pulled to the side of the road and put on his seat belt.
"What can I do for you, officer?"
"Get out of the vehicle."
"Yes, sir."
George watched as the officer got into the driver's seat and drove off.
The next morning, the paper read: "Cop killer on the loose. He has a uniform and has access to a squad car. Call local law enforcement with any tips."

Hi Janine,
A fast read that fits the prompt to a T. Well written. Nice twist at the end.

Janine,
Nice little story but it didn't end. It just stopped.
I think that when the cop got into George's car, it
was a given that he wasn't really a cop, so maybe a
slightly different ending would work better for me.
Thanks for a fun read.

Janine,
Kind of a creepy tale. But I wanted to know what happened to the police car. And how did George get home?
