FALSELY ACCUSED
[FlashXer] EXERCISE FOR FRIDAY, JUNE 5, 2009
I know that this is half a day early, but I have to be at the
local hospital for some tests early in the day, and don't know
how long that will take. Sorry about that, but there isn't much
I can do about it. Hopefully, I'll make some progress and can get
back on schedule. Until then, forgive me...I'll keep posting as long
as possible, even if it is half a day early. Here's your prompt,
an adaptation of today's headlines.....
WHEN THE PORT ENGINE CUTOUT, ALL I COULD THINK OF WAS
THAT PLANE THAT WENT DOWN IN THE ATLANTIC. I WAS REALLY
SCARED, BUT THE ENGINE COUGHED AND THEN CAME BACK TO LIFE..
THANK GOODNESS
Usual rules. 1000 words. In the subject line, please, your
name, the word engine, and the story title.
Despite what happened to the Air France flight, flying is still
a very safe way to travel. So they say. Me, I'm staying right
here on the ground...and will probably be crushed by a falling
tree in the middle of a hurricane. If I am, I'll go out on a limb
now and try to let you know.
Have fun

06/05/09 Janine's Engine ANOTHER LINE OF WORK 57 words
"The starboard engine just went."
"Went where?"
"This isn't a laughing matter. We're flying without one of the engines."
"This is my new outlook on life. What will be will be."
"Hey look, the engine started up again."
"Darn. I was looking forward to a swim in the ocean."
"I think you need another line of work."
