[FlashXer] EXERCISE: FRIDAY, JUNE 12, 2009

Mid June already, and before long we will be into the real summer. Days are getting longer (I love that, by the way) and despite the crazy weather--some chilly days, and heavy rain, early summer is a nice time for contemplation. At least it is for me. I hope it is for you. The prompt below has some relationship to early summer, too. Check it out and see for yourself how it relates and then get to work and write us a good tale. It should be fun to do.

PRETTY MUCH, WE ARE WHAT WE HAVE EXPERIENCED... AND I THINK THAT CAN MAKE A GOOD TALE, TOO. SO FOR THIS EXERCISE, YOU ARE TO GO BACK TO HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION AND WRITE A FLASH ABOUT THAT TIME... IT CAN BE GETTING THE DIPLOMA, THE PROM, OR WHATEVER ELSE TURNS YOU ON...BUT THE EXPERIENCE SHOULD MAKE A PRETTY GOOD STORY. TRY IT AND SEE....

"High school? I don't want it to end. I'm so bummed out about graduation."

"I'm off to college and away from home life ASAP."

"What's the big deal? Free place to stay, free food, do whatever you want."

"It's out on the open road for me. It's freedom to REALLY do whatever I want."

"But aren't you coming back for summers and holidays? Aren't your parents paying for college? How is that the open road?"

"Okay, so maybe I haven't worked out all of the details yet, but you get the idea."
