ONE AND ONE

[FlashXer] Prompt: Sunday, October 26, 2008

Good morning! I am a bit groggy. We had to break up a dog fight about 3 AM and it took awhile for the nerves to settle afterward. Fortunately, the dogs were wearing muzzles, so neither were injured. I suffered some scratched on my face when the lab tried to escape from me, but I am fine.

The line I have chosen is the first line in Michael Kimball's book, Green Girls. I think it has many possibilities.

The prompt for today is: A great time to figure things out. In the subject line, Your Name, the word Figure and your stories title, please.

Thank you and good writing. ...Rita

"Watcha doin', Freddy?" said Sam.

"I'm figuring somethin' out. Don't bug me."

Okay, I was just wondering what the writing and erasing was all about."

"Sam, at school they say that one and one is two."

"Yeah. So what?"

"I have a new baby cousin, so when Aunt Peg and Uncle Trip got together, they made three. Do you think one and one is really three instead of two?"

Dear Janine,

A cute little piece. Your dialogue has really improved!

Cute story, Janine. It's exactly the kind of thing a little kid would think of. I thought maybe one sentence was a little too adult sounding, but now I think it's just me over thinking it@@@Okay, I was just wondering what the writing and erasing was all about."@@@. Other than that, nothing to cite in your manuscript.
Well done!
Harriett
