A PIECE OF CAKE

[FlashXer] EXERCISE: SUNDAY, MAY 4, 2008

Stories of course, cover all sorts of things....happiness, sadness, mayhem and joy. in a famous annecdote, Ludwig Bemmelmans, supposedly wrote a screen play in which the hero was a bumble bee. So the ways of the tale are infinite, depending only only on your imagination and skill. Well, put it all to work now...and come up with a thriller. This prompt should be something of a stimulus to that, if not, sue me. At any rate, here it is. Do with it as you will...

LISTEN, HE GROWLED, THE WAY I GOT THIS HEIST SET UP AIN'T NOTHING CAN GO WRONG. IT'S GONNA BE A PIECE OF CAKE...

Usual rules. 1000 words. In the subject line, please, your name, the word Heist, and the story title. Get on with it, steal your way into our hearts with an action tale. I you do, I may even heist a glass to your honor in the local water hole. But don't count on it.

"Listen," he growled. "The way I got this heist set up ain't nothing can go wrong. It's gonna be a piece of cake..."

Harold looked at his old friend with puzzlement. "But I thought we were gonna get that ol' lady's pie when she puts it on the window sill."

Hi Janine. Funny. Nothing to cite in such a short piece. Although there have been times on this site when I've used a hundred words critiquing a 55-word piece.

Regards, Mike

Short and 'sweet' Janine. Thanks for sharing!

Janine, this was short and funny. I wish I had thought of it.-Rita
