IT'S SO EASY

[FlashXer] EXERCISE: SUNDAY, DECEMBER 23, 2007

The prompt today may be considered a little lachrymose, but why not try it anyway. After all if you are alone at this season or have been alone at this season, it can be a hell of a painful situation. So think about it and see what you can do with it. Cheer yourself up with a cheerful tale.
I CLOSE MY EYES, AND YOU ARE WITH ME, ENDING MY LONELINESS

Usual rules. 1000 words, in the subject line of your E mail, please your name, the word Lonely and the story title. Don't cry in your beer over this, it will be much more satisfactory for you to shuffle over to your computer and sniffle a little while you write.
Get to it...give yourself a gift of creativity.
And that's a real gift.

Janine's Lonely IT'S SO EASY 43 words

It's so easy to hold you in my arms when you are gone.

All I have to do is feel all of the wonderful things the thought of you brings to me.

I think, therefore I am?

No. I think, therefore YOU are.

Hi Janine. Cute little romantic piece that plays on Kant's philosophical idea of Cogito Ego Sum. Meanwhile, this reads like poetry. On the other hand, she may be thinking of a zombie, and that would make this a philosopical sophistry. Unless, of course, zombies really exist. Think about it. But not too hard. You may wish into existence that which should not exist. Heh-heh.

Hi Janine. Yeah, I liked the cleverness or your piece. And yes, I think t's laid out poetically, and almost has a poetic beat. I hate poetry, though. Nevertheless, I know when something has a poetic feel to it. And this one does. To millions who appreciate poetry, that'd be a plus.

Actually, have you thought of sending this out to the numerous magazines that seek short poetry?

Have a Happy New Year.

Regards, Mike

Thank you so much for the reply to my story. It actually sounds like you liked it... :) I hadn't thought about it reading like poetry. I guess that was just where I was at the moment. -Janine
