WHAT'S NEXT?
[FlashXer] EXERCISE: FRIDAY, MAY 16, 2008
If you were not aware, Wednesday marked the tenth anniversary of the
passing of Old Blue Eyes. some of you are not in the Sinatra era, and
find that kind of romantic, comprehensible music anathmatic. Well, that
may be, but to old fogies like me, it is something to think about.
I've spent lots
of hours listening to his dulcid tones: and as he got older, no so
dulcid tones.
The above is complee non-sequitor, I guess, but I had just put a
CD on the
machine and that is what is playing, so I thought about him.
This one word prompt should get you thinking. Don't give me a hard time
now, at one time there was a very good play with that title...so you can
find something about it to wrie about, I am sure. The play, as I recall
starred Jerry Stiller...and was a blast. Have fun with this...I look
for
some really good material.
NEXT!
Usual rules. 1000 words. In the subject line, please, your name, the
word
Next and the story title. If you don't do well by this, you might be
Next...and you might not enjoy that.
Have fun

"What's next for you, Paul?" Jake asked.
"Well, I decided that I needed a change. I fought in a war. I painted a few portraits that sold well. I won some swimming medals. I think it is time for a new adventure. I'm going to ask my girlfriend to move in with me." Paul replied.
Jake said, "Don't you think you're moving a bit fast? You've only been going out for fifteen years. Maybe you should wait another five or so just to be sure she's the one."

Hi Janine,
Love the satire in this. Done in two short and tight paras.
It put a big grin on my face.
best with this one,

Janine,
Geez, can't make up my mind if Jake is really timid or is being sarcastic. I like that you let the reader decide. Congrats on getting it on Flashshot!
