THE LIES
[FlashXer] EXERCISE: TUESDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2008
Good Morning:
My computer has been acting recalcitant an I have just combe back
with it
from the Apple store. So the delay is hereby explained. I hope. Not much
comment this morning, just watch out for 8 year old terrorists...we
seem to be
running one for president, aren't we?
I must not let my political feelings enter into these comments,
but I want to say that I have been aware of elections since l945, and
this is the
wildest, strangest i think I have ever watched. It will be
interesting, no doubt
very interesting indeed.
WHAT YOU ARE PLANNING, FRIEND, IS A SURE
PRESCRIPTION FOR DISASTER....
Usual rules. 1000 words. In the subject line, please, your name, the
word
Planning and the story title. It should be an interesting trip, down
story land.
Trust you have fun with it.
Enjoy.

10/10/08 Janine's Planning "The Lies" 81 words
"What you are planning is a disaster in the making, Tony."
"I don't know what you are talking about, Kate."
"Tony, telling those lies is wrong. I don't care if you don't like her."
You're overreacting, Kate. It's not like anyone is going to see the lies on the website."
The lies spread like wildfire all over the school and throughout the community. The girl ended up moving out of the area. She never got past the lies that never stopped.

Dear Janine,
An interesting exchange, although the dialogue needs to be pared down:
"What you're planning will be a disaster."
"What are you talking about, Kate?"
"Telling lies is wrong, Tony, even if you don't like her."
"You're overacting. Besides, who's gonna see my blog?"
Regards,
Jim

"I don't know what you are talking about, Kate."
"Tony, telling those lies is wrong. I don't care if you don't like her."
You're overreacting, Kate. It's not like anyone is going to see the lies on the website." @@@I would say: It's not like anyone reads my website, blog, myspace page or what ever Tony has posted on.@@@
The lies spread like wildfire all over the school and throughout the community. The girl ended up moving out of the area. She never got past the lies that never stopped. @@@I would eliminate the last sentence, since Tony and Kate wouldn't know this.@@@

Hi Janine. This is a nicely written piece, but there's not enough
information. I wanted to know what lies he was telling about the girl, and
what happened to make him dislike her so much? I made one comment in your
manuscript.

Janine,
I liked this little shot. Wish it could have stretched out a little more.
