WHAT'S THE ANSWER?
[FlashXer] EXERCISE: FRIDAY, NOV. 28, 2008
Well, we've had our feast, we've overeaten and now
are ready to face he world, again. Years ago I had
to address a large meeting in Scranton, Pa., (Joe Bidden's
home town. I lived there then, as did he, apparently) on the
Friday after Thanksgiving. I started my talk by saying,
"yesterday you all addressed a Turkey stuffed with sage...
now you are going to hear from a sage stuffed with Turkey...."
Frankly, it didn't work. I may have been too young to be a
sage, or something. But I got a black mark in the stand up
humor department. Another career opportunity shot to hell,
I guess...Here's today's prompt...have fun with it...
HEY LISTEN, YOU GOT TO BE A SKEPTIC. YOU MAY
GOTTEN THESE ANSWERS FROM THE COMPUTER, BUT
TRUST ME, THEY ARE ALL WRONG....
UIsual rules. 1000 words. In the subject line, please, your name
the word skeptic and the story title. There is a moral here: be careful
who you trust...sometimes trust turns around an bites you on the
ass...and that hurts.
Have fun.

12/03/08 Janine's Skeptic "What's The Answer?" 72 words
"The answer is 48."
"Thank you, Johnny, but that is incorrect."
"But it has to be correct, Ms. Watson."
"Why is that, Johnny?"
"Because I used the calculator."
"If the calculator is used incorrectly, then the answer may be incorrect."
Johnny leaned over to Margo. "Hey, Margo. The teacher doesn't know how to use a calculator. I just press the plus key to get the next answer. She'll never know the difference."

Hilarious take on the prompt, Janine. Nothing beats a little kid for coming
up with a creative answer! Nothing cited in your manuscript.
