A BETTER YOU
"Sally, I'm going to be a better person."
"You're already a great person, Patty."
"But I have to be better."
"Why?"
"My ex-husband is getting married and I'm still single," said Patty.
"I see. Well, what's your plan?" asked Sally.
"I'm going to go get a stack of self improvement books and find one that suits me."
"What about getting a new hobby or joining a social group?"
"No, then people would think I'm a 'joiner.' I don't want any negative rumors going around at the wedding," said Patty.
"Okay, so what are the self help books going to tell you to do?" asked Sally.
"They are going to tell me how to find a man to take to that wedding. That's what."
"I can do that. Just call an escort service. They really do exist."
Patty stomped her foot, "I'm not renting a man for the wedding."
"Why not go as the strong single ex-wife and find someone there?"
Patty reflected on this idea. "Oh I see, just go as who I am. Hmm... That just might work."
