THE SCARECROW
"Hey look Mom, there's a scarecrow," said Tommy.
"Hey look Mom, there's a scarecrow."
"Tommy, who said that?" said Mom.
"Tommy, who said that?"
Tommy and his mom looked up and down the dirt road, but saw no one.
"I think we should go now," said Mom.
"I think we should go now."
"I'm scared, Mom," said Tommy.
"I'm scared, Mom."
Tommy's mom took Tommy's hand and put a finger over her lips to tell him to be quiet.
"Hey, don't go. This is the most fun I've had in weeks. I'm supposed to scare the birds away, so I don’t have anyone to talk to."
Tommy unfroze himself to point at the scarecrow.
"Yes, Tommy. I see what you see," said Mom.
"So can we talk now?" said the scarecrow.
"Okay. You seem harmless," said Mom
"Are you scared Tommy?" said the scarecrow.
"Not anymore. I just thought of a bunch of ways to have fun on the way home from school. You're not going to be lonely anymore," Tommy said with a wink.
