IT'S A SLUG!

"It's a slug!" said Sally.

"No, it's a snail!" argued Tom.

"What's the difference?" asked Mark.

"It's got a shell. That makes it a snail!" yelled Tom.

Sally picked it up and broke off the shell, bit by bit. "There, now it's a slug!" yelled Sally.

Mark asked, "Don't you think it's cruel to break up it's home?"

"No. What's cruel is pouring salt on it and watching it die," said Tom.

"No. What's really cruel is smooshing it like this." Sally stomped on it.

"I guess that ends the debate on slug vs. snail," said Mark.

"No. We have to get the hose and get rid of the evidence so we don’t get in trouble," said Tom.

"I'll bury it and you host off the cement. Quick, I hear mom!" said Sally as she raced for the shovel and scraped the slug into the garden while Tom squirted the cement and Sally at the same time.

"Hey. No fair. Turn it off. Here comes mom," said Sally.

"What's going on out here?" asked mom.

All three in unison said, "Nothing."
