THE TWIG
"What's that?" asked Sue.
"It's a magic wand," replied Bill.
"It doesn't look like a wand. It looks like a twig," said Sue.
Waving it around, Bill said, "It may be a twig to you, but to me, it's a magical wand."
Sue challenged, "Oh yeah, what can it do?"
"Oh, it can turn you into a toad," said Bill.
With her arms crossed, Sue said, "I'd like to see that."
"Well, I don't have a mirror. You'll have to settle for feeling it. Alakazam!" Bill waved the wand and pointed it at Sue.
"Ribbit," said Sue the toad.
Bill waved the wand again in the hopes of turning Sue the toad back into Sue the girl, "Alakazam!"
"Oink, oink," said Sue the pig.
Bill tried again, "Alakazam!"
"See, I told you it wouldn't work. Now get rid of that thing and let's get home," nagged Sue.
Bill shoved the twig into his back pocket. He figured out that thinking of a pig did turn her into a pig by mistake. He would do better next time, now that he knew she had no memory of it. "Whatever you say Sue; I guess there is no convincing you."
