Westwood Sidewalk Messages
This is embedded in the cement on one of the sidewalks they haven't redone yet. There used to be more messages and movies listed all over Westwood when I was a teenager, but now there are only a few things left to look at in the cement. Hopefully there will be more someday. Metro, Culver City and Santa Monica busses all service the Westwood and UCLA area.
Metro Rail System Map
This map also includes two special busses, the Orange and Silver Lines. The area covers almost to Ventura all the way down to Long Beach. The system is quite impressive and it's still growing.
Metro Rail Station Sign
The Metro Rail Stations are all clearly marked on the station platforms. This makes it easy to know the stations even if the loud speaker system fails. People have only a few seconds at each stop to get on and off the trains. It's a very efficient mode of transport.
California Science Center Kelp Aquarium Sign
This is a sign near the kelp aquarium my brother is in charge of at the California Science Center in Exposition Park, next to USC. The Metro Silver Line drives right past the place, so it's easy to get there by public transit. They are also building a Metro Rail Station right next to Exposition Park.
I Metro Past The Pump
This is a campaign to get people to start using public transit as an alternative to high gas prices for driving cars everywhere they go.
Starfish Tilework at Main Library in Downtown Santa Monica
This tilework can be found on the walls of the ladies restroom on the second floor of the Main Library in downtown Santa Monica on Santa Monica Blvd three blocks up from Third Street Promenade. It's on the Santa Monica Big Blue Bus route for bus numbers 1, 7 and 8. It is also on the Metro bus route for bus numbers 4 and 704.
Century City Mall Parking Sign
This huge mall has underground parking to serve the area, but the prices to park make public transportation look like the best alternative. This sign is near Santa Monica Blvd and Avenue of the Stars.
