Keyboard Commands

 

 

Keyboard commands can make specific tasks easier and will end up being time savers when memorized. Sometimes it is easier to keep the hands on the keyboard instead of hunting for the mouse to do a common command.

Action Taken

Ctrl + B

Selected text is turned bold

Ctrl + I

Selected text is in italics

Ctrl + U

Selected text is underlined

 

 

Ctrl + C

Copies selected text to the clipboard

Ctrl + X

Cuts selected text and places it on the clipboard

Ctrl + V

Pastes the contents of the clipboard (Velcro)

 

 

Ctrl + A

Selects all the text in a document

Ctrl + Z

Undoes the last command

Ctrl + Y

Redoes the last command undone

 

 

Ctrl + P

Prints the document

Ctrl + S

Saves the document

Opens the task manager to stop a process or shutdown
